Individual Sponsorship

Hilltribe in the City provides: good accommodation, nutritious food, supervision and staff wages, school uniforms and clothes, transport to and from school, tutoring, medical and dental care, accident insurance, trips back to their families, entertainment and physical activity costs, a safe and secure environment with enough comfort to enhance learning in all facets of development including, emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual - (compassion, mindfulness, equanimity and love). We take care of every expense, as the families these kids come from live a subsistence life.

Sponsorships can be paid in Thai Baht, US dollars and Australian dollars. See below.

We know people like to look at the kids and decide to sponsor a certain individual - for many different reasons. Our sponsorship packages are for an individual - although we do not align a sponsorship package with a particular child in the house. Of course we live as a family and we share whatever we have with each other. So if we have 5 sponsorships for 6 kids then we share that amount between the kids equally. And when they look at this site we don't want any of them to see that they are unsponsored. I am sure you understand.

We have 3 types of Individual Sponsorship.

Firstly, Education Sponsorship. This sponsorship package provides: the cost of school uniforms (in Thailand there are a number of uniforms necessary - 1. the uniform of the school, 2. the sports uniform, 3. the scouts uniform, 4. dress of their hilltribe and 5. a 'whatever you like day' - this is 5 different sets of clothing for each school day), the cost of school lunch (we pay an amount for a provided lunch each day), an activities charge for outings, transportation to and from the school, textbooks and all the required work books, pens, pencils etc. We have been very selective and very appreciative to find a small school with an extremely supportive Director. The school is 14 kilometres from the house - but we are so pleased that these kids who are not used to this system will be nurtured through these huge changes in their lives. The cost is $400 per year.

Secondly, Food and Clothing Sponsorship. This sponsorship helps with the costs for 1 of the kids to live in the house for one year. It does not cover all the costs, such as the rent component, purchase of our HitC vehicle and the wages of staff. Hilltribe in the City is committed to providing a highly nutritious diet, and we provide all their clothing needs. We aim to be one of the best providers of care for hilltribe kids in Thailand. Sadly, some other organizations fail to have high standards of care. When you support Hilltribe in the City you will help us to provide the highest standard of care in all areas. For less than $2 per day you can fund this component. The cost is $660 per year.

Thirdly, Health Care Sponsorship. This package includes the cost of insurance for accidents and illness, the cost of visiting the local doctor and twice yearly dental care as well as optical assessment and care. The cost is $150 per year.

The cost of the Education Sponsorship is 12,000 baht for one year. This is $400 USD or $400 AUD per year.

The cost of the Food and Clothing Sponsorship is 20,000 baht. This is $55 per month, both in USD and AUD.

The cost of the Health Care Sponsorship is 4,500 baht. This $150 per year USD or AUD.

Payment options.

We would like sponsors to make a commitment for 1 year. You can make a one off payment or choose 6, 3 or monthly payments. For the Health Care Sponsorship we would like a one off, or 2 or 3 payments during the year.

(Until we are registered as a not for profit charity we cannot have an account in the name of Hilltribe in the City. However, until we can show 200,000 baht in the bank here in Thailand we cannot be registered as a charity. The account has 3 signatories, including our bank manager Manoch Vacharasuporn and is 2 from 3 to sign)
